Tea?

One of the most rewarding --- and thoroughly suprising discoveries of our trip, was the Lehnert & Landrock Bookstore (44 Sharia Sherif).  Therein, we found quite a selection of German books on the Middle East.  But more importantly, we unearthed a vast treasurey of prints of Cairo and Egypt taken in 1924.  For the unitiated, Egypt was a quite different country during British rule (until 1952).  The following pictures portray such a time, of colonial grandeur, and grand domestic poverty.
